Free Printable Rosh HaShanah Activities for Kids

Rosh HaShanah is the Jewish New Year and began at sundown September 4, 2013 on the western calendar. Rosh HaShanah precedes Yom Kippur in the Jewish month of Tishreh. Here are printable activities for Rosh HaShanah. It's the first of two Jewish high holy day. It falls on the approximate date when Moses led the Hebrews out of bondage from Egypt. Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement is the highest holy day--the Days of Atonement. These holidays are a time for reconciliation and repentance. Each year Jewish observances fall on different days, because our Hebrew brother and sisters do not follow our western Gregorian calendar. Purim celebrates the bravery and wisdom of a simple Jewish girl, Esther who became queen to Ahasuerus, King of Persia. King Ahasuerus's first wife Queen Vashti was very beautiful.
